Essential Functions:- Should be able to work in global development environment and take up leadership in providing the IT solution.
- Delivery of software to specifications, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Excellence in development of code to specifications, ability to deal with ambiguity esp. in a technical area.
- Keep up to date on latest software development technologies and methodologies.
- Drive or contribute to development standards as necessary.
- Provide production support to operational staff on key issues as need arises and during release of new software.
- Development of technical documentation - e.g. technical specifications.
- Adopt and drive build, release and automation strategies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies including code reviews and version control software such as CVS, TFS.
- Should be effective in communicating (verbal and written) with US partners/clients.
- Should have a good understanding and experience in CMM processes.
- Understands and has experience in implementing design patterns, development of design models.
- Must have good analytical and problem solving skills with positive customer service attitude.
- Strong software engineering skills, including object-oriented programming skills.
- Experience building web based transactional applications and systems.
- Knowledge of unit testing, and debugging applications.
- Basic understanding of how key business needs drive technology decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Experience:
- BE, B TECH, MCA
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Java/J2EE, JMS, JSF, Web Services, Oracle, PL/SQL technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with object-oriented development using the Java/J2EE platform.
- Demonstrated capability to understand standard technical documentation - including UML models, ER Diagrams, Data Models.
- Knowledge and experience of SDLC methodologies, analysis and design methodologies such as OOAD, software testing and the development of technical documentation.
- Experience in code development to documented technical specifications.
- Experience in development of enterprise class projects - programmer in large development teams, complex projects.
- Should have experience in PL/SQL programming.
- Should have used Oracle as backend.
- Strong technical skills with hands on experience in Technology.
- Strong analytical, design and debugging skills.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering high volume and high availability transactional applications under tight time constraints.
Preferred:
- Candidates with enterprise class product development experience are preferable.
- Candidates with Test Driven Development and JUnit experience are preferable.
- Experience designing and developing software in distributed architecture and multi-tier application environments.
- Experience supporting applications 24/7.
