The salary range for a commercial pilot is really high. It could start off with 7 lakhs and go up to 30 lakhs per annum. In fact, if salary ranges across the other industries are to be considered then the salary of a commercial pilot is one of the highest in India.
If you are a pilot who has just earned himself a degree in commercial pilot then the salary that you can expect quite easily is about 1.5 lakhs per year. This is in a domestic airline. If you were to join an international airline then the salary would be far higher. An experienced pilot who is flying on the international route can earn as much as 5 to 7 lakhs every month. This is a phenomenal amount of money to be bringing home.
The thing to do to get this kind of salary and to become a commercial pilot is to complete 10+2 with compulsory subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics. The marks that are required in each of these subjects is 50%. Then, you can join a flying school to get the commercial flying pilots license.
There are several rounds that you need to clear before you get a seat in one of these flying schools. Also, the fees are steep and go on to be as much as 15 to 20 lakhs. There are bank loans that you can avail. However, the moment you complete the course you can start working right away and repay the cost of the loan.

This is not counting the perks and the other benefits that these pilots for the Air Force get beside the base salary that they are eligible for.
