Overview

The Software Engineer is a skilled professional focused on the design and creation of software. They are responsible for the development and delivery of software solutions from concept to completion. In this role, they will act as developer for a given project to solve challenging business problems. In addition, they are expected to promote best practices and work collaboratively with Zeon’s team, including: Project Leads, Tech Leads, Testing Engineers & other developers.

He/she will be a seasoned and proven engineer in developing the software in given technology. They will collaborate with Tech lead & Project Leader to understand goals and objectives. The position reports to the Delivery Manager.

Key Responsibilities

●     Develop PHP web application with Object Oriented MVC architecture.
●     Follow the Code development standards.
●     Develop code optimized for optimum performance.
●     Develop web service Clients utilizing SOAP/XML-RPC.
●     Develop Simple SQL queries.
●     Collaborate in developing Database Stored Procedures, Transactions/Rollbacks.
●     Collaborate in optimizing SQL Queries and database to improve the performance.
●     Collaborate with the HTML & Design Team to develop the Frontend.
●     Front-end development utilizing JavaScript (jQuery/Prototype) and AJAX.
●     Participate in developing completely customized upgradable websites in Magento.
●     Upgrade existing websites to newer Magento versions.
●     Extension development in Magento.
●     Participate in migration of eCommerce websites from other platforms to Magento.
●     Participate in Design and Development of new features in the product.
●     Participate in the deployment of the web application.
●     Participate in understanding Client Requirements & functional specifications.
●     Effectively communicate status, metrics and issues on a regular basis.
●     Execute assigned tasks in a timely & efficient manner.
●     Assist junior team members in solving technical issues.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualification/Requirements

●     2+ years of working experience with PHP web application Development with MySQL.
●     Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Master in Computer Applications, or equivalent.
●     Good debugging skills, Code flow analysis and the ability to read and modify existing code.
●     Good working experience on Template programming, like Smarty, etc.
●     Knowledge of XML & Web services (SOAP, REST).
●     Working experience with (x)HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
●     Experience of implementing W3C standards and best practices.
●     DBA experience with MySQL.
●     Knowledge of SDLC.
●     Ability to understand business requirements into system design.
●     Hands on experience in website deployment to live environment.
●     ECommerce experience is a must.

Nice-to-have Requirements

●     Experience with Magento Commerce.
●     Zend Certification.
●     Working experience with Zend Framework.
●     Working experience with code repositories CVS/SVN.
