Openings for the post of Associate in Nereus Capital Advisors

Nereus Capital Advisors seeks an Associate for its Nereus India Alternative Energy Fund LLC (“Nereus”).

The Associate will be a part of the team that advises a fund on investments in the renewable/alternative energy space in India. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the investment evaluation and management process including deal origination, due diligence and evaluation of power project proposals, financial modeling and preparation of investment memoranda, and ongoing monitoring of investments. Using the extensive power project development, and technical and commercial risk management experience through previous assignments, the candidate is expected to perform:

(a) Technical and commercial evaluation and diligence of renewable/alternative energy power project proposals including financial modeling and review of Detailed Project Reports, Project Permits, EPC contracts, Power Purchase Agreements, etc.

(b) Analysis of the sector and the company with emphasis on the existing market design and the structure of the project within the context of both the regulatory environment as well as the market opportunity while covering development, implementation, and operational risks and opportunities in relation to the project(s) being developed by the target investee company.

(c) Preparation of detailed investment memoranda covering all aspects of the transaction envisaged and recommending the proposal to the investment committee.

(d) Interaction with Independent Engineers, EPC contractors, financial advisors, and other relevant project participants to facilitate seamless project development and execution.

(e) Post-transaction investment monitoring and portfolio management.

Requirements:

- 4-6 years’ experience in conventional and/or renewable power sectors in a project development, operations, or project consulting/advisory role.

- Should have strong exposure to power project related diligence including feasibility, applicability of extant regulations, laws and statutes, commercial contract review, EPC bid evaluation, permits, and power purchase agreement review.

- Ideal candidates would be a Mechanical Engineer (exception to people with extensive project development experience) with an advanced degree in business or finance.

- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including extensive financial modeling background and strong attention to detail.

- A demonstrable track record of exceptional achievement, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), and a top-tier educational background.

- A high level of professional maturity, strong work ethic, and an ability to fit into an entrepreneurial and highly demanding work environment.

- Should be a team player.
